US Marine Corporal Ross A. Smith of Wyoming, Michigan was killed February 9, 2006 when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was conducting combat operations against enemy forces near Fallujah, Iraq.
Corporal Smith, 21, was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.
Corporal Smith was a June 2002 graduate of Wyoming Park High School who enlisted in the Marines before his senior year. He was on his third tour in Iraq and was months away from finishing his four-year obligation to the armed forces when he was killed, his family said.

Lance Corporal Craig N. Watson, 21, died December 1, 2005 from an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Fallujah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California. Lance Corporal Andrew J. Kilpela, 22, of Fowlerville, Michigan died as a result of an explosion during combat operations in Saqlawiyah, Iraq, on June 10, 2005. Lance Corporal Kilpela was part of the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force.

wounds received from enemy mortar fire at Camp Hit, Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He
was assigned to Inspector/Instructor Staff, 3rd Battalion, 25th
Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Akron, Ohio. During Operation
Iraq Freedom, Cpl. Lindemuth was attached to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd
Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).
