Died: November 9, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Corps Reserve, Perrysburg, Ohio

Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.

 

 

Lance Cpl. Minhee Kim

Hometown: Ann Arbor, Michigan, U.S.

Age:  20 years old

Died: November 1, 2006  in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit:  C co. 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, 

Marine Corps Reserve, Lansing, Mich.

Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.

 

Cpl. Gary A. Koehler

Hometown: Ypsilanti, Michigan, U.S.

Age:  21 years old

Died: November 1, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.

 

Lance Cpl. Troy D. Nealey

Hometown: Eaton Rapids, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 24 years old

Died: October 29, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: C co. 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Corps Reserve, Lansing, Mich.

Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.

 

 

Lance Cpl. Nicholas J. Manoukian

Hometown: Lathrup Village, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 22 years old

Died: October 21, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.

 

Lance Cpl. Clifford R. Collinsworth

Hometown: Chelsea, Michigan, U.S.

Age:  20 years old

Died:  October 21, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.

 

Capt. Justin D. Peterson

Hometown: Davisburg, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 32 years old

Died: October 1, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Incident: Died from a non-hostile vehicle accident in Anbar Province.

 

 

Staff Sgt. Raymond J. Plouhar

Hometown: Lake Orion, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 30 years old

Died: June 26, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.

 

Lance Cpl. Brandon J. Webb

Hometown: Swartz Creek, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 20 years old

Died: June 20, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Incident: Killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar Province.

 

US Marine Corporal Ross A. Smith of Wyoming, Michigan was killed February 9, 2006 when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was conducting combat operations against enemy forces near Fallujah, Iraq. 

Corporal Smith, 21, was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

Corporal Smith was a June 2002 graduate of Wyoming Park High School who enlisted in the Marines before his senior year. He was on his third tour in Iraq and was months away from finishing his four-year obligation to the armed forces when he was killed, his family said.

Lance Cpl. Jason T. Little

Hometown: Climax, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 20 years old

Died: January 7, 2006 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 2nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Incident: Killed when his tank was attacked with a makeshift bomb while conducting combat operations near Ferris.

 

                                                                               

Lance Corporal David A. Huhn of Portland, Michigan, 24, died December 1, 2005 from an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Fallujah, Iraq.  He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California.  During Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).

 

Lance Corporal Craig N. Watson, 21, died December 1, 2005 from an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Fallujah, Iraq.  He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California.  During Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).

 

Maj. Gerald M. Bloomfield II

Hometown: Ypsilanti, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 38 years old

Died: November 2, 2005 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: Marine Light-Attack Helicopter Squadron 369, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Incident: Died when his AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter crashed while flying in support of operations near Ar Ramadi.

 

 

Sgt. Michael P. Hodshire

Hometown: North Adams, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 25 years old

Died: October 30, 2005 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, 

Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Incident: Died of wounds sustained from a makeshift bomb explosion during combat operations near 

Nasser Wa Salaam.

 

Cpl. Nicholas O. Cherava

Hometown:  Ontonagon, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 21 years old

Died: October 6, 2005 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Incident: Killed by a makeshift bomb while conducting combat operations near Karmah.

 

 

 

 

 

Lance Corporal Andrew J. Kilpela, 22, of Fowlerville, Michigan died as a result of an explosion during combat operations in Saqlawiyah, Iraq, on June 10, 2005. Lance Corporal Kilpela was part of the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force.

 

Corporal Michael B. Lindemuth, 27, of Petoskey, Mich., died April 13, 2005 as a result of wounds received from enemy mortar fire at Camp Hit, Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to Inspector/Instructor Staff, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Akron, Ohio. During Operation Iraq Freedom, Cpl. Lindemuth was attached to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).

 

 

 

 

 

Lance Corporal Allan Klein of Clinton Township died January 26, 2005 while on active duty in Iraq. 

Lance Corporal Klein, 34, died when the CH-53E helicopter he was in crashed near Ar Rutbah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force out of Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Corporal In C. Kim, 23, of Warren, Michigan, died December 7, 2004 as result of a non-hostile 

vehicle incident in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.

He was assigned to 9th Communications Battalion, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

 

 

Lance Corporal Gentian Marku, 22, of Warren, Michigan, died as a result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on November 25, 2004

 

 

 

Lance Corporal Michael Hanks 22, of Gregory, Michigan, died as result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Died on November 17, 2004.

 

 

 

 

Lance Corporal Justin M. Ellsworth, 20, of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, died as a result of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to Combat Service Support Battalion 1, Combat Service Support Group 11, 1st Force Service Support Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on November 13, 2004.

 

 

 

Lance Cpl. Justin D. Reppuhn, 20, of Hemlock, Michigan, died as a result of enemy action in

Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion,

1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

Died on November 11, 2004.

            

Maj. Kevin G. Nave

Hometown: Union Lake, Michigan, U.S.

Age: 36 years old

Died: March 26, 2003 in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Unit: 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Incident: Run over by a military vehicle while asleep on the ground after leading 1,000 Marines through enemy territory toward Baghdad.
